Christian Mairitsch from LISCON shows the latest version of the LISCON Management Console with iPhone support. It’s the first thin client management software worldwide which provides a optimized interface for the iPhone and Android Smartphones like the HTC Magic.

The LISCON branded thin client from HP with LISCON OS starts a VMware View session. After moving it into another group the thin client inherits the configuration to open a Citrix published application in the seameless mode. This only takes a few moments and a Excel Window pops-up at the LISCON Desktop. Instead of a typical Windows task bar, a Mac-like dock appears.

In this video, I get another question regarding Windows 7 on my HP Mini 1000. Coheed, a regular member of our chat room, writes: “I’d like to see you do a followup on your 1050NR Review. Something that shows how Windows 7 is running now, and if you’d choose to go back to Windows XP.” Since I don’t have a lot of heavy software on the HP Mini, I simply demonstrate various multitasking efforts with the browsers I have installed. I open a few tabs in Google Chrome and Firefox and play some videos on Youtube and Hulu. I also launch some Adobe Air applications like Twhirl. The 2GB of memory I installed on the HP Mini really helps with multitasking, but not necessarily with speed. I’m satisfied with Windows 7 as it is since everything I want to do on the HP Mini works. I don’t foresee myself going back to Windows XP until the Windows 7 beta expires in August. I hope this answers your question, Coheed. In this video, I answer a question from phillymaniac14 who wants to know my thoughts on Windows XP performance versus Windows 7 performance on my netbooks. I own an HP Mini 1000 while my wife owns a HP Mini Vivienne Tam edition. Both of these are equipped with 2GB of RAM, but my wife still has Windows XP Home and I have Windows 7 Beta. My tests are hardly scientific but I’ve found that the extra memory definitely helps Windows 7 performance with full screen flash videos. As it stands, Windows 7 and Windows XP full screen flash video performance seem to be identical. With lessar RAM, Windows XP performed better. There are many factors to consider when comparing OS’s especially with a beta OS such as Windows 7. There’s also Flash software, browser versions and compatibility issues that may need to be adjusted on Windows 7. A very early test, but it was interesting to note.
