Windows 7 (formerly codenamed Blackcomb and Vienna) is the latest version of Microsoft Windows, a series of operating systems produced by Microsoft for use on personal computers, including home and business desktops, laptops, netbooks, tablet PCs and media center PCs. Windows 7 was released to manufacturing on July 22, 2009, with general retail availability set for October 22, 2009, less than three years after the release of its predecessor, Windows Vista. Windows 7’s server counterpart, Windows Server 2008 R2, is slated for release at about the same time.

Unlike its predecessor, which introduced a large number of new features, Windows 7 is intended to be a more focused, incremental upgrade to the Windows line, with the goal of being fully compatible with applications and hardware with which Windows Vista is already compatible. Presentations given by Microsoft in 2008 focused on multi-touch support, a redesigned Windows Shell with a new taskbar, a home networking system called HomeGroup, and performance improvements. Some applications that have been included with prior releases of Microsoft Windows, including Windows Calendar, Windows Mail, Windows Movie Maker, and Windows Photo Gallery, will not be included in Windows 7; some will instead be offered separately as part of the free Windows Live Essentials suite.

The dock is in no way part of Windows 7 and is actually a free piece of software called RocketDock

In Windows 7 you can very easily change your DNS settings by typing “Network and Sharing in the start menu’s text box and click on the change adapter seting link in the left sidebar.

You right click on your network adapter and pick properties.

Look for TCP/IPV4 on the list and pick properties.

Select “Use the following DNS server addresses”

Type 8.8.8.8 in the first box and 8.8.4.4 in the second box and click ok.

If you want to change your routors DNS, so all PCs on your home network use 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4

Open up your web browser like IE and type in your routers website address which looks like 192.168.1.1

Find your DNS settings it is usually found on the WAN or Internet section of your Routor.

Type in 8.8.8.8 in the first box and 8.8.4.4 in the second box, and click ok.

Navigate in the registry to HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Authentication\LogonUI\Background
Then see if there is a DWORD value called OEMBackground and if so set the Hex value to 1. If you do not have OEMBackground then you need to create a new DWORD value key called OEMBackground first.
After you are done navigate to c:\windows\system32\oobe\ and create a info folder and then inside it create a backgrounds folder and put a JPEG file in there that is less than 256KB and call the file name backgroundDefault.jpg , then reboot and your done!
